    By the way, Eriscon is indeed Howard Fast. THE DARKNESS WITHIN (aka FALLEN ANGEL) was apparently also published under the title MIRAGE and authorship of Howard Fast. That's all I know, so if anyone else can add anything I would greatly appreciate it!

    Good to know about the change in Joe Puma. I also recently picked up Gault's THE WAYWARD WIDOW. Is the Joe Puma in that story more in line with SHAKEDOWN or the later novels? And, what about Walter Ericson?

    I don't know for sure about Erricson, but the Joe Puma in the Roney Scott book isn't quite the same guy he later became.
