serveral folks mentioned the song "Cocaine Blues" done most famously by Johnny Cash.

far and away the nastiest version of this perennial fave was one of the earliest, cut by LA bar owner Billy Hughes for the Four Star label in 1948. in this version, the murder is expanded into a double-murder, with blood and brains splattering on the walls, and the narrator frequently stops in his panicked flight to shoot up his drugs in vivid detail. the better known Cash/Hank Thompson variant is milquetoast in comparison.
