I hate to say it, but you're absolutely right. I actually
like STREGA
(immediately preceding BLUE BELLE) best of all, but BB is the
last of the *really* good Burke novels. Still, I followed
them up until FOOTSTEPS OF THE HAWK, when I threw up my hands
and gave the series up as having totally jumped the
shark.
