I really enjoyed "Lemons Never Lie," too. The idea of an
artist turning to crime to subsidize his art seems to be a
stereotype-breaker, unless there are similar protagonists I
don't know about.
Also enjoyed the latest from Hard Case Crime, "Blackmailer"
by George Axelrod - a fast-paced, well-written page turner
from 1952. It's a "lost manuscript" thriller like so many
books on the best-seller list these days.
