For a while I read all his books, but he finally outpaced me
and there are a few of the more recent ones that I haven't
read. My favorites have always been the early Bosch novels.
From memory, I'm thinking Black Echo, Concrete Blonde, and
Last Coyote.
Great writing, a great story, and a very intense Bosch.
I have enjoyed his non-Bosch novels, too. Although I have had
a hard time warming to Terry Caleb, I liked his female
protagonist in Void Moon.
I just finished Lincoln Lawyer. Some of the more recent ones
seemed to have a little less spark than the earlier ones.
Maybe the newness just wore off. Typically, I hate lawyer
novels, but Lincoln Lawyer was great. Very close to the best
I've read by him. And the character is not Harry Bosch
dressed up in a different job, either.
I think John Lau recommended this book. Good pick,
John.
