I agree totally with you about Visconti's OSSESSIONE. What's
it called in English-speaking countries? It's a very good
film and socially more conscious than the American
ones.
Wasn't there a contemporary French film based on Cain's
novel? Has anyone seen it? By Pierre Chenal, if I remember
correctly? Etienne?
By the way, thanks to Miker for his eloquent readings on the
critical studies of noir. Haven't really been able to comment
- been busy. Duncan's NOIR FICTION is a very good book, that
much I can say.
