Well, this is kind of general, but the allegorical strain we
find perhaps first in the biblical writings of the Hebrews
& then in profusion in later imaginative literary works,
say of the medieval period, certainly goes a long way toward
the bottom-line of much Noir
& neo-Noir...I'm thinking off the top of my pointed
