I have a copy of HARDBOILED in my library and think it is a
marvelous anthology. You probably will have many of the
stories there in other books in your collection. Nonetheless,
either Pronzini or Adrian adds an introduction to each
offering -- they run about 1-1.5 pages each -- and those
alone make the book worth having. They offer some great
(seminal) insights that go beyond merely introducing each
author.
