Yesterday I came across a thrift shop hardcover of
Hard-Boiled, an anthology published by Oxford University
Press and edited by Bill Pronzini. As often happens with
books of this type, I didn't know if the majority of the
stories have been reprinted in other collections that I have
in my library. In fact, I thought I might have purchased a
TPB copy during one of my trips to England, but it turned out
that I didn't. Any comments on the contents and should I go
back and buy it? Brief comments from John Williams and Mike
Ripley on Amazon were positive.
I always enjoy reading about the finds of list members so has
anybody been lucky lately?
