I was thinking the same thing, and those genres fit those
authors in other ways. Hemingway is certainly an influence on
a lot of hardboiled fiction & some of his stories (like
The Killers) are great examples of the genre. Conrad's work
owes more to a gothic tradition & some of it at least
(e.g., The Secret Agent or even Heart of Darkness) fits very
well into the category of noir.
