I don't know about this, but will try to take some time to
check it out. Regardless, it would be a shame if someone
passed up reading The Things They Carried simply because it
has been revised. It's one of the great ones. Simple and
direct writing that packs a wallop.
For what it's worth, his two most recent books are about as
far from noir and/or hardboiled as it gets. Not a criticism,
and I liked them both - just a disclaimer before we go too
far afield.
