Someone noted that Woolrich's novels aren't the
"gritty" sort of noir we normally expect from the Gold Medal
srot of writers. But the skewed psychology that Woolrich
employs in his characters -- their compulsion to act in ways
that not always follow "normal" logic
-- makes these books very compelling. Once I start reading
one, I always finish it.
