As a long time fan of Manchette and of polar...and a long time Frenchman in the States, I thank you for your wonderful review of the two books and especially for the keen explanation of the context in which they were written and the implications to the polar 'genre' in its French acception...since Manchette....

Your review has thus been sent to many of my dear US and UK friends so that they pick up copies and read up...
