RARA-AVIS: Hardboiled Proletariat

In the 1930s, were there any other writers that wrote hardboiled Proletariat novels besides Dos Passos and Steinbeck? Hemingway's TO HAVE AND HAVE NOT might qualify. Anderson's THIEVES LIKE US has an occasional Socialist slant. Others?
