I suggest you try DETOUR (aka DETOUR TO DEATH in the 1950's
Dell paperback). It was reissued in the original Black Lizard
line, along with SING ME A MURDER. I preferred DETOUR (no
relation to the classic film noir of the same title) but I
can't remember why. She seems to have been a prolific short
story writer - a lot of her shorts turned up in Manhunt &
Alfred Hitchcock's Mystery Magazine (I assume the latter to
be the case - she's always in those Hitchcock anthologies
that Dell used to put out).
