Is it just a coincidence that the spy story, once thought
dead in the wake of the end of the Cold War, has surged into
popularity again?
Off the top of my head, you've got TV shows like THE AGENCY
and ALIAS; movies like THE SUM OF ALL FEARS, BAD COMPANY, and
the upcoming James Bond flick; books like Robert Littel's
massive THE COMPANY.
Question: If espionage is suddenly back in favor, why is
Donald Hamilton having such a hard time selling the latest
(and most likely last) Matt Helm novel?
