Just finished last night reading my first novel by author
Charles Willeford, The Way We Die Now (1988). A very good
read, too.
This was one of the Hoke Mosely series. I found the police
work and mystery story to be more interesting than the parts
describing his home/personal life. The humor was low keyed
but came at the right junctures in the narrative.
There'll more Willeford to come for me, I'm sure.
