I'm reading Elmore Leonard's 'Swag.' An oldie but goody
which, above all, reminds me that Leonard is in a class by
himself. The king, while the rest are, at best, knaves.
The man doesn't have any message to tell. Just plain flat out
entertains from page 1. Funny as hell, too. One character is
viewing a lineup and says, 'yeah, that's the guy.' The cop
says, 'are you sure?' The witness says, 'Well, it sure as
hell ain't any of the coppers you got lined up with
him."
I mean, so true, yet hilarious.
