This is very sad. Can anyone in the book trade in the U.S.
comment. Is it just too much money to translate with little
hope of return on investment? It seems that Henning Mankell
only made it into print through some non-profit press and
with some sort of diplomatic effort. It seems like University
Presses bring some translated "literary" fiction into the
U.S., but not crime novels. Doug
