Can anyone help me think of books (or movies) that revolve around cop killings?

There's Sweet Sweetback, of course. Wasn't it a cop who was killed on the road in Burglar by Goodis or am I confusing it with Godard's Breathless? And isn't there a Sjowall and Wahloo book about that? Others?
