JAWS. A mostly silly book, but a pretty good film. I'm not
sure if the book has a reputation at all, these days, but it
sure helped build Peter Benchley's rep through the seventies
and eighties.
Of course, the film also, arguably, started the trend towards
big fat blockbuster films loaded down with special effects,
which didn't bode well for the relatively low-key (and often
low-budget) character-driven crime flick so many of you claim
to miss.
But it was an entertaining film.
