The western is Incident at Twenty Mile. Interesting, but
ultimately a failure. It's difficult to base a western (or
any novel, for that matter) on the shenanigans of a religious
zealot/psychopath and a teenager with a personality disorder.
Each lacks universality.
"The Romance," by the way, is The Summer of Katya. I've not
