I read that same article and picked up C O'Connell books for
the same reason, and while I haven't stopped reading them, I
agree that there's something off about them, especially that
comic book aspect. I probably would not have picked up that
notion if the article's author had used another term, but
it's hard to shake. I hear that O'Connell gets better, which
gives me hope for the next ones I haven't read yet.
I bought a copy of JUDAS CHILD for my mom a couple of
Christmases ago, and she finally got around to reading it.
She told me it was one of the best crime books she's ever
read. Of course, she's also a big Cornwell fan. That puts it
in perspective, I guess.
