Hi,
Ok. I'm 60 and have been reading detective fiction for a long
time. My dad was a fan and I grew up with Hammett and
Chandler but when I was a teen it was Spillane. My Dad spent
some time telling me why it was ok for Mike to be so
hard-boiled but he never convinced me although the sex was
thrilling for a young adolescent in those censored days.
Chandler has been my favorite for a long time but almost
anyone from the 40s and 50s will do. I do like Spencer, the
Macdonalds, Sara Peretsky and many others. I have just found
Wade Miller and am reminded of the 50s again.
Cordially,
Frank
