You're probably thinking of Robin Moore. Robin Cook has
written a bunch of medical thrillers like Coma.
However, this is not the same Robin Cook as Derek Raymond. As
a matter of fact, it was because of the rise of the thriller
writer that he adopted the pseudonym Derek Raymond when he
re-emerged from years of non-publishing.
