Yes, he is yet another unsung hero of the paperback days. A
very solid writer, knowledgeable and compelling about the
sea, he had a wide stylistic range with room for both comedy
and hardboiled action. Some of his books have been reprinted,
but many are only found in old editions. He should definitely
be better known.
