This article seems fair. I loved the author's jab at jargony
lit-crit studies -- works with lots of
(s)la/s/he/s about hege/monies, reinventions, de/regenderings
of the subject and sundry Other
(past)i(m)es.
I've seen much worse stuff in Salon. This is a definite
improvement over the Hammett piece.
