To those who enjoy the Parker novels, I would highly recommend Westlake's _The Ax_, a relentless dark suspense novel. Weslake has written several masterpieces (both dark and comic), and this is definitely one of them.

Praising Westlake is almost redundant in this company, but the man deserves it.
