I somehow doubt it. She is an excellent plotter and a fine
prose writer
in the plainspoken style. However, the character of Millhone
is (to my
skeptical mind) not sufficiently interesting to survive that
long. I
suspect that Millhone appeals mainly to the yuppie sectors of
the
eighties and nineties (of the Reagan and Clinton variety,
respectively)
- but who knows what future generations will think of
her?
I'd better get of the futurology soapbox before it starts
raining
tomato(e)s...
