I'm more than half-way through it, and it's not grabbing
me.
According to the back, the Library Journal says it's
"nerve-wracking,"
but not one of my nerves has been wracked.
Streeter is an interesting lead, his women friends Carol and
Linda are
well done, and I like Terry Blue Nathan. The plot - an ex-con
seeks
revenge on those who put him in jail - is always a good one,
and the
way he goes about it is fine. Still, it just doesn't yank my
collar
and say, "Read me." It's just sort of there. When this
happens I
wonder if it's because I've been reading the book in short
bursts
while commuting, but a good book should be able to get over
that.
I've got a stack of things I'm itching to get to, so I'll
give this
another shot and then call it a month if it doesn't get
better.
I can't remember who suggested this - evidently there are
varying
tastes on here :) - but someone must have liked it. Any
comments?
