Since Bill Denton saw fit to admit that he hadn't gotten to
the Chester
Himes book yet because of other reading, I thought I'd chime
in. I'm still
getting through the Highsmith book which we have long
forgotten. Having
just returned from Left Coast Crime with a bag full of books,
there is much
to intrigue me. I also review for Mystery News and always
have a review
book in the stack.
Terrill Lankford: We did meet.....sort of. I was the old
duffer who shook
your hand after your panel, but you seemed a bit concerned at
the moment.
Did someone lift your books that were on display? You said
you'd be right
back but the next thing I knew when I looked around you had
vanished. Maybe
next time.
Rick Robinson did an excellent job earlier in telling your
about the panels
that came close to hardboiled, the Chandler and the erotic in
hardboiled
novels. So there was little that I could add.
Oh, yes, Kevin Smith said something about another Smith and
not letting the
Dentons take over. Another good reason to stir the pot, just
to let him
know I'm still here. And having a good time. I enjoy this
discussion group
immensely. Thanks to all who participate.
Cheers,
Frank Denton
