Dear Mike,
I love Dick Francis but I would never think of him as
hardboiled.
To me he's a bit in his own category because his central
character is
always the most loveable guy. But if you like him, I'd recommed
some
novels by Pawson: Picasso scam, c95; Mushroom man, c95; Judas
sheep,
c96. They're English with a policeman and very witty.
