Hardboiled and Noir

A listing of all of the hardboiled and noir stuff on the site.
- RARA-AVIS, the mailing list for hardboiled and noir writing. It was created in 1997, and all of the archives are online and searchable.
- Twists, Slugs and Roscoes: A Glossary of Hardboiled Slang, a small dictionary I published translates tough-guy slang into regular English. I updated it and made it fully HTMLized in 1995. It has been used by students in Germany and translators in Japan, and appears as an appendix in Pulp Adventures (ISBN 1-55806-311-0), a role-playing game guide from Iron Crown Enterprises. Soon I'll give it another update and polish it up. (Special pages for butter and egg man and gooseberry lay.)
- The Lazy Gink's Guide to a Complete Hammett Collection, for when you want to get all of Dashiell Hammett's short stories, but are confused because they're collected across so many anthologies.
- First lines to Richard Stark's Parker books. Hardboiled gems.
