What a great show Homicide was. So many great episodes. The one stuck in my mind is with Vincent D'Norfio stuck between a platform and a train with instant death waiting for him once the train is pulled away.

It's in season one, where Robin Williams plays a father whose family is vacationing in Baltimore and the mother is killed. A powerful performance by Williams, and the teleplay is outstanding. Definitely worth a re-watch if you have the DVD set.
