I want to be careful here, because my choices donīt always seem to fit here.
On the Plus, I have been watching, to my mind, the greatest police
series ever, _Homicide: Life on the Streets_, and I am continually
blown away by everything about this show.
I read Robert B. Parkerīs young adult novel, _Chasing the Bear_, where
he fleshes out his childhood and names his father and uncles, Sam,
Cash, and Patrick, respectively. Fun enough, and the story is one that
would produce a ĻSpenser.Ļ Drawbacks: 14 year old Spenser and Jenny
sound suspiciously like Adult Spenser and Susan, and in the repartee
between Spenser and Susan, who act as storyteller and audience, they
make some double entendre concerning their relationship that, were I a
parent, I might rather give to a 15 or 16 year old, not the 12 - 15
age group I associate with Young Adult readers
And I stumbled upon a TMC Bogart retrospective during December that
was marvelous. My next DVD purchases will be Bogart collections.
