The big-time pubs are gambling big bucks to get big bucks.
Which means that they may not be publishing enough good books for voracious readers.
The new pubs: New Pulp Press, Pulp Press, Busted Flush, Five Star, Pulp Press, etc are publishing some of the best of the new hardboiled and noir fiction.
Maybe the conglomerates will fail and won't be in a position to be saved by the U.S. Govt, since so many of them are European Owned. (Some of the new presses are too, but they are not super-biggies.)
