I second that opinion.
Any Wade Miller is pretty much certain to entertain, but I find their Gold Medals particularly enjoyable.
Um, "piles of Gold Medals lying around"? I trust you know how good you have it.
Please let us know what titles you find "just lying around".

Subject: RARA-AVIS: Wade Miller's The Killer
I picked this out from my library, mint Gold Medal that I somehow had not read. This is a fantastic hardboiled read with strong noir elements. If you run into it, grab it. This predates Donald Hamilton territory, by the way. I am going to continue delving into the piles of Gold Medals lying around. I hope to find more unread ones...
Best,
mrt
