Paul Newman was shorter than Di Caprio is, I believe. plus, he's dead
but yeah, the little illustrations of the character that were on the original pulps did look a bit like him, or kind of like Matthew McConaughey does now
Leo's in his 30s now. he can pull it off

Isn't DiCaprio too short, I always thought McGee was taller and Myer the
short one.
Maybe that's why movie adaptions are always problematical for me, I have my
own cast in my head.
I always thought Paul Newman would be good as McGee.
