Maybe it's only coincidence but I thought of Heinlein when reading "A Key to
the Suite" recently (the only MacDonald I've read since a few Travis McGees
many years ago.) It wasn't because of a "moralizing narrator." Some of the
male-female dialogue brought Heinlein to mind for some reason. Whether it
was the voices being somewhat similar or perhaps a similar level of
realism about mid-century middle class people, or both, I can't say.
