I suspect that in the last few years the "used magazine" vendors on the streets of NYC know their values. I rarely see collectors "stuff."
A couple of locations I know of other than those mentioned:
The west side of Broadway across from the Lincoln Center. The East Side of Broadway just north of 72nd Street.
