And three hits:
Jack O'Connell's _Wireless_, as hardboiled a novel as I've read in a
long time, exceptionally well written and unforgettable.
A reread of Richard Condon's _The Manchurian Candidate_, great novel,
far richer and superior to either movie (although the first movie is
excellent taken on its own).
And finally a first read of a Thomas Cook novel that had escaped my
notice: _Into the Web_. Very dark, superbly written... like everything
else I've read by this author.
All three are highly recommended to those who don't already know them.
Best,
mrt
