Film Forum was one of my favorite theaters when I was there. For those of you in NYC, I recommend the film Purple Noon they're showing on Wednesday. It was the first film version of The Talented Mr. Ripley--by Réne Clément. In fact, Anthony Minghella must have studied this version before shooting his own. Music by Nino Rota. Great, overlooked film.
