Thorp died a few years ago. Of a heart attack, or maybe stroke. His last
book was a version of the Green River Killer case. I knew him, not well. He
was a very entertaining guy, very outgoing, who lived and played hard. To
clarify, the character from The Detective (played by Sinatra), is the same
as the one who appears in Nothing Lasts Forever (played by Bruce Willis in
Die Hard).
