Certainly Miss Lonelyhearts and The Day of the Locust are
noir. They're also classic novels. West was such a talent...
what a shame his career was so short. I recently reread Miss
Lonelyhearts at one sitting (it's very short) and found it
even more disturbing than before. Great stuff.
