Mr. Spillane in his circus movie RING OF FEAR (1954) was
shown today. Clyde Beatty's circus is the setting, with
Mickey as himself investigating crimes. The movie reminds me
of the traveling circuses I saw growing up in my town. Not
really hardboiled or noir, but it's great fun to see Mickey
as a sleuth.
