Thanks, Ed. This overview and interview are instructive. For
those who don't know Greenleaf, I would say his work is
highly recommendable no matter which branch of crime fiction
you favor. They are basically very fine stories, convincingly
told and in a style that (to my mind) takes what is good in
Ross Macdonald but considerably broadens the themes and
avoids suffocation by skeletons (well, he doesn't avoid it in
State's Evidence: in that one he surpasses Macdonald at the
suffocating game!).
