I finished reading Gil Brewer's first novel (A DEVIL FOR
O'SHAUGNESSY) in the newest Stark House twofer (A Devil for
O'Shaugnessy/The Three-way Split). Actually, a few GB short
stories and fine essays by George Tuttle and David Laurence
Wilsonare are also included.
A DEVIL is a hoot. Great writing, as always, from Brewer. I
don't want to give away any of the plot, but it holds up well
to his other Florida novels I've read. A DEVIL is printed
here for the first time (the novel's interesting provenance
is described).
