Boxing fiction???
F.X. Toole is the way to go. He has a collection of short
stories and each one is great. Clint Eastwood made one of
them into the movie 'Million Dollar Babies'. He also has a
great novel called 'Pound for Pound' which is good, but not
quite as good as the short stuff.
This guy was a cutman for something like 60 years, and
published his first short story a few years before he died.
He never saw the Eastwood movie or how popular his book would
be.
Another great boxing book is called 'The Professional' and
it's by W.C. Heinz.
