It would be hard to considering that the dynamics of
"Postman" and "Double Indemnity" became almost a template for
other American noir writers and filmmakers. So, yeah, he's a
father figure -- along with Woolrich -- of postwar noir at
least.
And thanks for mentioning West. He always seems to get lost
in the shuffle.
