DJ-Anonyme@webtv.net brought up the topic of dogfighting in crime fiction.

Joan Hess had a dogfighting theme in "Roll over and Play Dead" (1991). Her books about Claire Malloy, sleuthing bookstore owner in college town Farberville, Arkansas, are probably too cozy for most here, but I enjoy them. And she was early on this topic!
